Stuart is an Associate in the tax team at Mischcon de Reya and specialises in UK and international tax planning, in addition to general private client matters. He advises individuals, entrepreneurs, families and corporate entities as well as the family offices, trust companies and other institutions supporting them. His work involves estate planning and succession issues, the creation of domestic and/or international trust and corporate structures, issues relating to residence and domicile, and philanthropy. This frequently involves complex tax advice with an international element and co-ordinating advice from advisors in different jurisdictions. He also has experience of contentious UK and international trusts and estates, resolving disputes between trustees and personal representatives, and beneficiaries, acting for either side. A full member of STEP, the world's leading organisation for private wealth professionals, the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and The Law Society's Private Client Section (also committee member), Stuart regularly gives seminars on private client law and practice and has published articles in many of the leading professional publications. He is a former revision editor of Butterworths Wills, Probate and Administration Service and an author of Practical Law's Private Client Multi-jurisdictional Guide (England and Wales). In 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2017 he was ranked as one of the top 35 under 35 private client advisors by eprivateclient. In August 2016 he was named as one of Spear's Rising Stars in its Top 50 Tax Advisors Index where he was described as a 'technically and analytically exceptional, practical and thorough adviser who is building a strong reputation'.
