'Property buyers looking to take on renovation projects should be aware of the difficulties in this sector, and proceed with caution'
Property buyers should be aware of high costs and scarcity in the building industry, warns James Law of buying agency Stacks. As flagged by the Federation of Master Builders and the RIBA, demand for builders and building materials continues to outstrip supply and shows little sign of abating.
Originally from Warwickshire, James’ love for the county began at an early age, during family holidays to Poole. James’ late father kept a holiday home and boat in Poole but was so passionate about the area that he became very involved in raising money for the Lifeboats and Local Fishermen’s’ Charities and was awarded for his services by being made a ‘Freeman of Poole’. Having completed his studies James returned to the county to complete his articles and qualify as a solicitor, and apart from a sojourn to Spain has lived and worked in the county for over 20 years. James has worked both as a conveyancing solicitor and as an Estate Agent for a well renowned national agency as well as setting up and running a regional office for a Country House and Equestrian Agency. In a private capacity he has also been involved in numerous restoration and building projects both here and abroad. Having actively participated in property matters of just about every sort, from just about every angle his experience gives confidence in any form of purchase and combined with his knowledge and passion for the county enables him to help you achieve your property goals: finding and securing every sort of property from coastal holiday homes, Georgian townhouses to forever bucolic rural rectories!
