Mizen Group has snapped up a development site in Battersea with plans for a £22m tower.
The former light industrial unit on Gwynne Road – not far from Clapham Junction – has consent for a 14-storey scheme delivering 33 apartments above ground and first floor offices.
Designed by Wimshurst Pelleriti, the architecture practice headed up by former Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners duo Will Wimhurst and Leonardo A Pelleriti, the project is being billed as “a new landmark building in a part of Battersea ripe for regeneration”.
33 of the new units will be affordable and Mizen is contributing £290k to upgrade the nearby Harroway Gardens.
Completion is slated for summer 2018 and buyers have already been in touch, bagging six of the apartments so far.
Barry Tansey, CEO of the Mizen Group: “Battersea is an area undergoing huge transformation to become one of the most desirable places to both live and work in the capital and we are delighted to part of its ongoing regeneration. Our scheme will provide a striking new landmark and will further enhance Battersea’s new identity as a thriving community for young professionals and families.”
