A rather striking new addition to South Kensington has recently launched on Harrington Road.
21 Harrington Road is a collection of six luxury apartments created by ANDltd, the minds behind internationally recognised design projects including the Ghantoot Marina in the UAE, Egg Nightclub in London and the Gyeonggi Museum in South Korea. The development is, the firm says, “an original design scheme unique in technology and aesthetic in comparison to the more traditional South Kensington vernacular.”
Originally granted planning permission to replace a traditional Victorian townhouse with an “eclectic contemporary styled building” back in 2010, revised designs were approved in 2015, delivering “a calmer, more rational design approach” as well as extra height and full-length windows. The resulting apartments – five two-beds and one four-bed duplex – live in a very contemporary white structure in a prominent South Ken position, and come stocked with techno-gubbins, including the latest smartphone-operated Control4 home automation system and Lutron lighting controls. Completion is slated for Winter 2016, with prices start at £1.4m; United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty and Farleys are handling sales.
