John D Wood & Faron Sutaria raise £10,000 for homeless charity

Merging Countrywide estate agencies sleep out for a good cause

Staff from John D Wood & Co. and Faron Sutaria – Countrywide Plc’s merging top-end agencies – have raised over £10k for West London homeless charity Glass Door, after taking part in its annual Sleep Out event in Chelsea.

It’s the third year running that the teams have involved themselves with the event, raising funds for Glass Door to co-ordinate shelter and support for homeless people, in partnership with churches across West London.

Staff joined around 300 people to sleep on the pavement of Duke of York Square on 7th October, raising a grand total of nearly £150,000; that’s more than ever before.

Tim Lawler, Area Director of John D Wood & Co. who organised the team: “I am thrilled that together with my colleagues at John D Wood & Co. and Faron Sutaria we managed to raise over £10,000 for Glass Door.  This money will help those who are in a less fortunate place than ourselves and offer the homeless the chance to get support to move off the streets for good. Thank you to our customers, colleagues, friends and family for your generous donations to this fantastic cause and to Becky Evans at Glass Door who helped organise the event and kept in close touch updating us on our fundraising efforts.”

Steven Platts, Chief Operating Officer of Glass Door: “The staff coming from John D Wood & Co. and Faron Sutaria are heroes for taking part in the Sleep Out. They understand the importance of having a home, and their support helped make the event the success it was.”
