Luxury London property developer Northacre has opened the doors to the first show apartment at its landmark mixed-use scheme in Westminster, The Broadway.
The newly-launched three-bedroom flat on the 13th floor has been designed in collaboration with Natalia Miyar Atelier, showcasing generous living space and sensational views across London.
The Broadway occupies a 1.7 acre site at Orchard Place near Victoria Station, formerly home to New Scotland Yard’s Metropolitan Police Headquarters. A striking set of Art Deco-inspired residential towers, designed by architects Squire & Partners, sits on top of a four-storey “plinth” of retail and office space. Multiplex is delivering the works as main contractor. Resi sales launched back in 2017, led by JLL; commercial property is being marketed now.
Overall, the scheme is delivering 258 apartments, ranging from one- to five bedrooms, with penthouses on the top-most levels. Most apartments are at least dual-aspect, taking advantage of views over Westminster to Nine Elms and Battersea, and over St James’s to the West End. Prices range from around £1.6m up to near £30m.
Dean Main’s super-prime-specialist firm Rhodium is handling property management.
SHUAA Capital-backed Northacre has two major schemes – with a combined GDV of around £2 billion – nearing completion in Prime Central London. The Broadway and No.1 Palace Street are due to complete almost simultaneously within the next few months.
Natalia Miyar has worked with Northacre on a number of other projects, including show apartments at No.1 Palace Street.
The Broadway’s triple-aspect show flat has been dressed in soft greys and modern style, picking up geometric motifs from huge diamond-shaped windows. A palette of marble, stone and hardwood with copper and brass accents reflects the building’s architecture, while yielding to Those Views.
Miyar has selected a mix of custom-made furniture and vintage finds (including a pair of sculptural travertine coffee tables), alongside collage artworks from Miami, to give the show flat a “pared-back” yet comfortable look.
We hear sales have been romping along in recent weeks at the Broadway, accelerated by the launch of the show apartment… Read more about it on PrimeResi here.
Niccolò Barattieri di San Pietro, Northacre: “The development of The Broadway and Orchard Place has been an exciting time for Northacre. It marks a new chapter in our development history in the creation of our first mixed-use development. Our experience, restoring some of London’s most beautiful historical buildings has taught us the importance of designing a building which is future-proofed for many generations to come and makes its own unique stamp on the capital. The design considers the rich history of the surroundings, in particular the neighbouring Art Deco buildings, whilst offering a modern interpretation and creating a new destination in the historic heartland of London. We are delighted with Natalia’s design which reflects the buildings architecture, location and personality.”
Natalia Miyar, director and founder of Natalia Miyar Atelier: “I am very honoured to be working with Northacre on this project. Their attention to property is second to none, throughout the entire process of rebuilding and reimagining these iconic London locations; this is maintained from the ground up from the quality of the architecture to the finishing detail in the joinery. Their commitment to a quality product is quite exemplary and it is easy for me to complete the picture when I am invited at the completion end of the process to layer beautiful things on top.
“My design for the first show apartment aims to encapsulate the spectacular views of historical Westminster through The Broadway’s floor to ceiling unique diamond windows. These panoramic views are celebrated from an oversized dining table from which to truly entertain in style against a spectacular backdrop across the iconic London skyline.”
