Green light for Farrell’s £8bn Earls Court vision

One of the largest - and most controversial - schemes in central London has finally been given the thumbs up by Mayor Boris Johnson.

After all the wrangling, Qatari Diar's Project Blue Ltd has got the go-ahead to start building the first phase of its Chelsea Barracks scheme; works are due to get underway later this year.

Is it finally going to happen? After many, many years and almost as many non-starting schemes, it looks like Battersea Power Station may actually be developed. And soon.
