Banda gets to work on Richmond Brewery scheme

Construction at is now underway at Banda Property’s boutique “Richmond Brewery Stores” factory-to-resi development in Petersham.

image010Banda bought the site last year, securing planning permission to create seven luxury duplex apartments on top of some office space.

The 22,000 square foot 19th century building has had former incarnations as Richmond Brewery’s bottling plant, as a toy train factory, and as the British Legion’s first poppy factory.

Each of the seven residential units will get a private terrace and have some fairly smashing views over the Thames. The idea is to keep as much of the industrial heritage of the building as possible, delivering high-spec modern living that stays “sympathetic to the original architecture of the building.”

Edo Mapelli Mozzi, CEO of Banda Property: “When we secured the Richmond Brewery Stores site last year, we could visualise its potential immediately. We like to seek out buildings that are character-rich, and enhance on their individual identities through contemporary design and artisanal craftsmanship, resulting in beautiful, aesthetically pleasing homes that are designed for living in. The hoarding is being erected imminently, and local residents can see how we are going to breathe new life back into this exceptional building and create a compelling new residential and commercial offering for Richmond.”
