One of the last remaining development sites on The Bishops Avenue in north London has become available again.
The rundown Arts and Crafts mansion hit the headlines back in 2012 after asking £25m, but four years down the line it’s returned in roughly the same state but with £2.5m shaved off the price.
Occupying an overgrown 1.7 acre plot near the junction with Canons Close, the once-grand 1896 house now stands in stark contrast to the rest of Billionaires’ Row. According to the agents, planning lapsed in 2014 but conversations with Barnet Council have centred around the creation of either a luxury resi apartment scheme or a 30,000 square foot mega-mansion.
Reports from back in 2012 suggested it would take £15m to £18m and three years to return it to former glories, but put the potential end value at “an estimated £60m”.
Mann Smith are asking £22m but add that “a Subject to Planning deal may be considered”.
