The latest Hamptons index tells us that the national rate of rental price inflation ticked up sharply towards the end of 2020. The annual rate jumped from 1.4% in October to 4.1% in December.

131,900 buy-to-let homes were sold-off by investors in 2020, says Hamptons; the lowest number since 2013.

Average rents in the countryside have risen by 5.5% in the last year, reports Hamptons, while city rents have fallen by 5.3%.
