Top-end prime London prices have fallen by 16% since last year

Country homes valued at £5m+ saw average prices surge by 7.3% in Q1, taking the annual rate of price inflation to a blistering 15.8%.

"We can confidently predict a strong end to the year," says Knight Frank, "just less frenetic than the first six months."

Asking prices have fallen for the first time this year, driven by declines at the top-end, but Rightmove is predicting an Autumn bounce for the property market.
