Planners ‘astonished’ to find Kensington property had been demolished

The owner of a £4m house in Hampstead Garden Suburb has been hit with one of the biggest fines ever handed out for unlawful renovations to a listed building.

Wandsworth Council has unanimously given the thumbs up to another major mixed use scheme in the borough, which the developers are calling the "Gateway to the Nine Elms on the South Bank".

It's now a bit easier to build on village greens, thanks to new landowner rights that came in yesterday (1st October 2013).
