‘One in ten’ new homes have been built in flood risk zones

Almost 85,000 new homes have been built in flood risk areas in the last five years, according to Government data mined by The Guardian. NFU Mutual, meanwhile, estimates that the cost of insurance claims for the recent Storm Ciara will reach £20m.
