Nearly half of London letting agents break the law

The EU's Fifth Money Laundering Directive is slated to come into play in January, requiring UK letting agents dealing in rents above €10k per month to carry out AML checks on their clients.

“The new code of practice will look to set standards at a higher level than currently legally set," says steering committee leader Baroness Hayter.

The housing market has been re-opened after the Covid-19 lockdown, but it is "not a return to normality" for home movers or for the property industry.
