National house price inflation picks up; houses out-perform flats – UK HPI
Detached homes are seeing notably higher property price growth in England compared to other property types, climbing by 6.3% over the last year on average, while flats have seen annual inflation of just 1.8%. There's a similar picture in London.

London's average property price dropped by a sharp 2.9% in September, according to the latest official statistics, taking annual growth in the capital down to +2.8% (from +6.7% in August)
House price inflation slows to +7.5% – UK HPI
The average UK house price dipped by 0.5% in January, according to the latest official UK HPI, leaving the annual rate of change at a still-high +7.5%.
