Knight Frank raises property price forecasts as supply stays low
“House price growth is peaking as supply rebuilds and mortgage rates normalise," says Knight Frank's research chief, Tom Bill. "But one lesson from the pandemic is that nothing reverts to normal overnight, which is particularly true in a relatively slow-moving market like residential property. We therefore expect a more gradual return to earth for prices."
House price inflation is likely to "unwind" back to single figures across the UK, predicts Knight Frank, although Prime Central London is set for higher price growth as global travel resumes.
