Higher value lots ‘increasingly prevalent’ says auction house

A US property auction house known for its starry clientele is to hold its first European sale next week.

One of Greenwich’s biggest private houses has just been sold after hitting the market for a record £3.75m.

Bargain hunters were out in force at the Marriott Hotel yesterday, as Savills' September auction raised a blockbusting £42m (£5m more than last year's total).
