One of the best-known estate agents in prime central London has decided to set up her own firm.
After more than three decades at Aylesford International, Louise Hewlett has just launched an independent property company – Louise Hewlett Property Consultants – which will be based in Kensington and cover only the swankiest of postcodes (namely those of Kensington & Chelsea, Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Belgravia, Holland Park and Notting Hill). The new offering will include sales and acquisitions and deal primarily in the rarefied £5m to £100m price range.
The highly-respected Hewlett has worked on some of the capital’s most noteworthy resi deals of recent years, including four out of the six private homes that have changed hands in Kensington Palace Gardens. She told us the decision to leave Aylesford was ‘”not easy”, and in fact “took over two years of in-depth discussions”.
Hewlett will be joined by former Aylesford sales team member Emma Olivier.
Louise Hewlett: “I am delighted to have launched my new property consultancy: Louise Hewlett Property Consultants Ltd. This is an exciting new phase leading on from a long career spanning over 32 years in the Prime Central London market and I have been overwhelmed by the positive response and encouragement from both clients and fellow agents. Although early days in terms of setting up my new company (the web site is still under construction), we have already been instructed on several excellent properties to sell and have successfully acquired a number of properties at different values for other clients.
“Emma Olivier who worked directly with me at Aylesford International for the past eight years, where we forged a close professional relationship, has joined my company as a director, taking on an immediate role as office manager and in charge of the daily client care. Emma built a well respected reputation with her strong communicating skills, efficiency and instinctive flair for looking after clients and will be a much valued member of the team ensuring our new business continues to provide an exacting level of personal service, which my clients have come to associate with me and my team.
“Leaving Aylesford International after a very happy 32 year career was not an easy decision and in fact took over two years of in-depth discussions. However, I felt that as an established private family business, the succession would not be mine and the time had come to pass on the role of Managing Director to someone else allowing me to fulfill a new challenge. My initial plan was to have a three to six month sabbatical to give me time to decide what role I wished to pursue, but it soon became clear that my desire, instinct and passion for the property business had not diminished and with the endorsement and help of a number of well known friends and acquaintances, I was encouraged to start my new property business.
“My vision and intention is to build a small private firm offering an excellent personal service with total discretion. At the same time, if required, working with other agents who will compliment my skill base and experience; thereby giving my clients the best advantage of having a dedicated personal individual service but at the same time using the wider exposure some of the large international firms can bring. This arrangement has already proved to be both attractive to my clients and successful on a number of instructions.
“I hope to expand the company to meet my clients’ needs, but not to compromise the high level of service and close client working relationships, that I value so much, and it goes without saying that I am hugely excited about my fresh start!”
