Former base of Dame Marie Rambert, one of the pioneering figures of English ballet

A voluminous space in Kensington has hit the market with a particularly strong back story.

Tucked away off High Street Ken, the Grade II listed building on Bedford Gardens served as the studio of Dame Marie Rambert, one of the pioneering figures of English ballet, during the 1920s.

Born in Warsaw in 1888, Mdme Rambert went on to influence some of the 20th century’s most famous choreographers and founded Ballet Rambert, the oldest English ballet company still performing.

Described as “one-of-a-kind” by agents Marsh & Parsons, the Georgian maisonette with a later Victorian addition has since been converted into a rather romantic three-bed with a showstopping, double-height reception room. The asking is £4.95m…
