Construction industry recovery starts here

There's been no change in the number of new house building starts over the last quarter, although the number's up by nearly a fifth year-on-year, according to the latest Government stats.

Following yesterday's stats showing a 2008-trumping trough in London's second hand resi market during Q2, new data has turned the spotlight on what's been happening in the new-build market.

The number of starts and completions on new-build homes reached their highest level since 2008 at the end of 2015, rising by 23% in Q4 compared to the same period a year earlier.
