Rightmove has ranked the ten hottest buyers' and sellers' markets in Britain, based on the proportion of this year's property listings that have already sold subject to contract.

Eight charts from Rightmove Plc's Annual Report illustrate how Britain's biggest property portal fared through the pandemic year.

Tuesday 23rd March saw the highest number of Agreed Sales of any single day over the past ten years, says Rightmove.

The number of chain-free property listings has jumped from one in six at this time last year to more than one in five now.

Estate agents paid Rightmove an average of 28% less per branch in 2020 compared to 2019 - but the property portal expects marketing spending to recover to at least pre-pandemic levels this year.

Record numbers of people are browsing the internet for a new home - but there's a dearth of new sales listings...

Asking prices, buyer enquiries and agreed sales all picked up last month, but far fewer properties are coming to market compared to last year.

New sales supply is not keeping up with rising buyer demand, says property portal.
