Chinese house prices dip for the first time in six years

Knight Frank's Global House Price index is rising at its fastest rate since Q1 2005. A third of tracked property markets have seen prices escalate by at least 10% in the last year.

We're in one of the biggest global property booms since 1900, says Oxford Economics, as it warns that "the longer a housing boom continues, the bigger the risk of a large reversal".

Knight Frank's Global House Price Index tells of a 7.3% average increase across 56 tracked countries in the year to Q1 2021.
