Build-to-Rent completions jump by a third to hit 30,000

UK regions saw a dramatic 51% increase in the number of "American-style" purpose-built rental homes completed in 2019, according to Savills, the British Property Federation and Molior.

There are now 139,508 build-to-rent homes completed, under construction or in planning across the UK; 14,615 units were completed in the regions in 2018, compared to 14,801 in the capital

Savills has identified a significant "missing market" for new-build homes in the capital that property developers "cannot afford to miss out on."
