Billionaires’ Row demolition job asks £10m

A £10m mansion on The Bishops Avenue has come up for sale with possible scope to knock it down and build something nearly four times bigger.

As it stands, the double-fronted four bed is pretty modest by this street’s standards, currently offering just over 4,750 square feet of internal space.

It’s being sold as an opportunity to create something significantly more impressive though. The current consent allows for a 16,500 square foot replacement, but the agents say this could potentially be increased to a chunky 18,000 if the planners get on board.

Here’s how things look currently…

Another interesting Billionaires’ Row development opp – this time a proper wreck – has also been listed recently. The rundown Victorian mansion near the junction with Canons Close hit the headlines back in 2012 after asking £25m, but has returned four years down the line in roughly the same state but with £2.5m shaved off the price. According to the agents, conversations with Barnet Council have centred around the creation of either a luxury resi apartment scheme or a 30,000 square foot mega-mansion on the overgrown 1.7 acre plot…

One of the biggest existing houses along here, the 27,000 square foot Heath Hall, an Arts & Crafts behemoth built for William Park Lyle of the Tate & Lyle family in 1910, hit the rental market earlier this month at £25k a week…
