August record for above-asking deals

The annual rate of UK property price inflation climbed to 10.2% in March, according to official data.

Some 704,000 homes are marked Sold Subject to Contract and are now going through the sales process, according to Rightmove; it's the biggest sales pipeline of the last decade, 78% higher than in May 2019.

Zoopla estimates that 50% fewer homes will be sold in 2020 than in 2019... The current rate of deals is about 10% of the usual March tally - a market more akin to late December than Springtime.
