Aston Martin rolls out luxury residences in Miami

Real estate "is a natural extension of the Aston Martin brand"

Following the lead of Fendi, Armani, Bentley and Versace, Aston Martin is the latest luxury brand to make a foray into the residential property development game.

The great British car marque is partnering with the Coto family – which owns a rather large Argentinian supermarket chain – to launch Aston Martin Residences at the mouth of the Miami River in Florida, as part of its new “Art of Living” suite of fun things to do.

G and G Business Developments – the Coto family’s real estate arm – has managed to get the Aston badge fixed to a sail-shaped 66-storey, 390-unit condo tower at 300 Biscayne Boulevard Way in Miami, designed by Revuelta Architecture International and South American firm Bodas Miani Anger.

Interiors are being created by Aston Martin’s own design team, led by EVP and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, with a brief to carry through the brand’s “signature understated elegance, authenticity of materials and clean lines”. Two private lobbies, a screening room, a two-level fitness centre with ocean views, a 55th-floor infinity pool and a full-service spa will all flex the familiar AM wings motif on door handles and the like. Residents of the new development will also get access to an exclusive yacht marina.

The scheme will deliver 390 apartments, ranging from one-beds up to eight penthouses, including a duplex, all with private pools and terraces. A sales launch is slated for March 2017, with ground due to be broken in the Summer and completion expected in 2021.

It’s all part of quite an ambitious brand extension project for Aston Martin, which will pull together a “curated collection of luxury projects and experiences” to take customers “beyond sports cars”. Concierge company Quintessentially has been brought in to help with the curation and management. This real estate arrangement with the Cotos apparently took about a year to put together. The developer acquired the 1.25 acre site back in 2014, for a reported $125m.

This remarkable new venture realises our long-term vision of entering the world of luxury real estate, and is a natural extension of the Aston Martin brand

Katia Bassi, VP Aston Martin and Managing Director AM Brands: “For over a century Aston Martin has delighted in working with talented people who not only understand our ethos but embody it. G and G Business Developments are just such people and we are excited to be collaborating with them to create truly exemplary residences. This remarkable new venture realises our long-term vision of entering the world of luxury real estate, and is a natural extension of the Aston Martin brand. We create beautiful cars for those who appreciate au-tomotive fine art, and we are excited to extend our expertise in design and craftsmanship into a project of this calibre. Such ventures enable us to further enhance and grow the brand into new aspects of the luxury world that appeal to both our existing and future customers.”

German Coto, CEO of G and G Business Developments: “I am particularly proud of this project and our partnership with such an iconic British brand. We are working closely with the Aston Martin design team to create a stunning tower that will enhance and define the new Miami skyline. The collaboration is a beautiful mix of technology, style and elegance. I believe that together we can build a highly desirable place to live, setting new standards in both design and quality of life.”

Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s  EVP and Chief Creative Officer: “As our first real estate project, we wanted to express the timeless style of Aston Martin through design elements and materials appropriate for an ultra-modern residential building. Our design team is providing the inspiration for a look and feel that will be truly Aston Martin.”
