Time called on Estate Agency of the Year Awards

Sunday Times and ZPG-sponsored industry bash cancelled

Peter Knight, organiser of the Estate Agency of the Year & Lettings Agency of the Year Awards, has decided to end one of the mainstream industry’s biggest annual bashes after 15 years of handing out gongs.

The Awards were launched back in 2002, but has Knight told PropertyIndustryEye.com that it’s now time for “a complete rethink”, putting the decision down to a number of factors including a proliferation of rival awards events and that “whilst thousands of agents put themselves forwards for scrutiny by entering the most testing examination in the industry, many thousands more do not.”

Marsh & Parsons was named overall winner at December’s final Estate Agency of the Year Awards, held at the Hilton London Metropole.

Surrey-based industry veteran Knight, who’s behind The Property Academy and Agents’ Giving, as well as awards-vehicle Estate Agency Events, has already trailed a new venture, emailing his contact list that “We will be announcing a completely new and different initiative in the next few weeks that I’m very excited about.”
