The Howard de Walden Estate has signed up Grainger’s Tracey Hartley to lead its £1.2bn resi portfolio.
Grainger’s former Director of Residential Operations will take up her post in October, working alongside Chief Exec Andrew Hyland who joined at the end of last year.
Hartley, a member of DCLG’s Private Rented Sector Taskforce, will be maintaining her existing industry roles, which also include chairing the RICS Residential Property Management Working Group and sitting on its Residential Professional Group Board.
Based on Queen Anne Street, HDWE is the freehold owner of most of the buildings throughout 92 acres of Marylebone, managing and leasing around 850 properties from Marylebone High Street in the west to Portland Place in the east, and from Wigmore Street in the south to Marylebone Road in the north.
The estate remains 100% owned by the de Walden family, who can trace their local roots all the way back to 1710.
Andrew Hynard, Chief Executive of The Howard de Walden Estate: “After an extensive search we are delighted to appoint Tracey to the role. This is a key appointment and she has the track record, knowledge and experience we want, as well as the right outlook and values to fit in.”
Tracey Hartley added: “The role at Howard de Walden is just too strong an opening to miss. It represents a special, once in a career, opportunity in a part of London my family and I know well. I am greatly looking forward to getting started and will balance a healthy respect for tradition with a forward looking perspective”.
