GLA and TfL go on the hunt for property developers to help deliver resi projects

The Greater London Authority and Transport for London are creating The London Development Panel 2 to "gather together a pool of the capital’s expertise in housing delivery"

Transport for London is, on behalf of the Greater London Authority, replenishing its panel of property developers to help deliver c.£20bn-worth of resi-led schemes.

A “London Development Panel 2” with up to 30 firms will replace the incumbent 25-developer framework, which ends its four-year run in November. LDP2 will be the Mayor of London’s “preferred tool for delivering residential-led development on public land”, according to an OJEU tender notice. It’s aim is to “gather together a pool of the capital’s expertise in housing delivery”.

The new panel will run for four years, but could be extended to five, to ensure “continuity of housing delivery during a period of potential political hiatus caused by the mayoral election cycle within the contracting authority.”

This is the second such developer framework to be assembled by  TfL in as many years: last February’s 13-firm Property Partnership Framework is already cracking on with developing 75 sites over 300 acres; a consortium of U+I and Notting Hill has secured the first two projects.
