First ‘Country House Clause’ eco house gets the nod in Kent

A new rural eco house, designed by architects Farrells for developer Jarvis Homes, has been awarded planning consent in Kent; it's one of fewer than 100 properties to be approved via Paragraph 55 of the National Planning Policy Framework - the "Country House Clause" - since it was introduced in 1997, and is thought to be the first ever eco house to meet the stringent "exceptional architectural quality and innovation criteria".
