One of the most experienced operators in the business, Louise Crichton set up her independent consultancy in 1998 after working for a number of big-name agencies in PCL.

Notable deals in 2019 included an off-market central London flat purchase for a British client: ‘Supply of property was low and vendors whose properties were for sale were being extremely indecisive; we had already spent over a month trying to negotiate terms for a flat where the vendor just couldn’t decide whether to sell or not, despite our good offers. The growing sense of political mayhem at Westminster was bringing the market to a standstill. My client however remained very keen to buy – his views, like mine, was that from adversity comes opportunity. I received a call from one of my favourite agents on a Thursday afternoon. He said he had just taken on something that might suit my client and would I like to see it before it went on the open market a few days later – I viewed it within an hour of that phone call. I then called my client and based on my recommendation he viewed it a couple of hours later. He then arranged for his wife to jump on a train and she came and saw it that evening. We discussed it at length and crunched numbers in to the night. The following day we made one decisive offer and I successfully negotiated exclusive terms and we took it off the market. No one else ever got to see the flat or know anything about it; my client was thrilled and both the vendor and selling agent were happy.”
