Technical Facilities/House Manager

We’re looking for an skilled and knowledgeable Technical Facilities/House Manager to look after a large and luxurious private residential dwelling in Hampstead, North West London.

Based on-site at the family home in Hampstead every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, off work Monday and Tuesday and working from our clients offices in Fulham Wednesday and Thursday. This is the set and non-negotiable working pattern, except during school holidays (Easter, Summer, Christmas and Half-terms) when the arrangement is Monday to Friday at the family home.

As Technical Facilities/House Manager you will be responsible for running, managing and overseeing this property ensuring its effective functioning and providing an efficient and safe environment for the residents and their staff.

The property and its grounds are vast and include a games room, gym, swimming pool, lift, CCTV, security/alarms, high-tech communication systems & IT software, and a two-storey car park. You will be accountable for the maintenance of it all; addressing any problems immediately as they arise and rectifying them quickly and competently.

Responsibilities of the House Manager include:

Ensuring that the property is maintained to the highest possible standards at all times.
Scheduling & supervising household maintenance/repairs with contractors & service companies.
Developing & implementing a facility management programme including preventative maintenance and periodic maintenance inspections.
Responding to urgent maintenance calls.
Ensuring that cost effective support and maintenance arrangements are put in place and regularly reviewed.
Identifying contracts maturing / arising and plan for appropriate allocation of these in advance.
Obtaining quotes on annual contracts.
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards and industry codes.
The ability to fix small repairs on a daily basis.

The House Manager must have:

Experience in a similar position within a Private House, Estate or Hotel.
Excellent and effective organisational skills with a “hands-on/can-do” personality.
Some knowledge in the following areas: Air ventilation systems/air conditioning, Plumbing and heating systems/under floor heating, AV equipment: TV systems, Skybox and others, Telephone, mobile and internet systems, Spa, gym equipment and swimming pool management
